Destination cycling holidays are on the rise across Australia and around the globe and a boy from Oz is taking them to the next level in North America.
Have you ever wanted to experience what it’s like to be a professional cyclist, even for just a few days? Your bike fitted and ready to ride, your meals carefully prepared and of the finest culinary quality, your routes scoped out and a support crew ready to meet your every need?
Noticing a gap in the market, Gold Coast expat Travis McKenzie is making the professional cyclist experience a reality by launching NTSQ Velo Premium Cycling Retreats in North America.
“Five-star accommodation, chef-prepared meals each day, daily massage, cycling kits, a professionally fitted bike, all of your ride snacks and hydration”
McKenzie spent three years as the Global Events Manager for Vancouver-based Lululemon, where he managed the company’s major athletic event, the SeaWheeze Half Marathon, as well as the professional sponsorship for the BMC Racing Team and BMC-Etixx Triathlon team.
“I was lucky enough to attend their team camps in Europe each year, and through these trips, I was able to get a glimpse into the level of detail and organisation it takes to coordinate and participate in these style of camps,” says McKenzie.
It’s this level of professional coordination that McKenzie wants to bring to cycling enthusiasts through his Velo retreats. “The smallest of details are thought of and taken care of.
